⚔️ David and Goliath

How a young shepherd defeated a giant — 1 Samuel 17

The Israelites were at war with the Philistines. Every day, a massive warrior named Goliath — over 9 feet tall! — would come out and shout, "Send someone to fight me! If he wins, we will be your servants. If I win, you will be ours!" No one in Israel was brave enough to face him.

Then a young shepherd boy named David arrived. He was bringing food to his older brothers in the army. When he heard Goliath mocking God's people, David said, "I will fight him! God protected me from lions and bears while I watched my sheep. He will protect me from this giant too."

King Saul offered David his own armor, but it was too heavy. Instead, David picked up five smooth stones from a stream and took his sling. When Goliath saw the boy, he laughed. But David shouted, "You come with a sword and a spear, but I come in the name of the Lord!"

David put a stone in his sling, swung it, and hit Goliath right in the forehead. The giant fell face-down on the ground. David won! The whole Philistine army ran away. David's faith in God was stronger than any weapon.

💡 Key Lesson

No problem is too big for God. Even when we feel small and the challenge seems impossible, God gives us the courage and strength to overcome. Just like David, our faith is our greatest weapon.
