🌊 Moses and the Exodus

From baby in a basket to parting the Red Sea — Exodus 1-14

Long ago, God's people — the Israelites — were slaves in Egypt. The cruel Pharaoh made them work day and night building cities. But God had a plan to set them free, and that plan began with a baby named Moses.

When Moses was born, Pharaoh had ordered all Israelite baby boys to be thrown into the river. But Moses' mother hid him in a waterproof basket among the reeds. Pharaoh's own daughter found the baby and raised him as a prince!

Years later, God spoke to Moses through a burning bush that was not consumed by flames. "Go to Pharaoh," God said, "and tell him: Let my people go!" Moses was afraid, but God promised to be with him.

Pharaoh refused, so God sent 10 terrible plagues — water turning to blood, frogs, locusts, darkness, and more. After the final plague, Pharaoh finally let the Israelites go.

But then Pharaoh changed his mind and sent his army after them! The Israelites were trapped at the Red Sea. Moses raised his staff, and God parted the waters! The Israelites walked through on dry ground, and the sea closed behind them. They were free at last!
